The People’s Choice

 

Hoburne Holiday Parks has won the overall Family Business of the Year award with overwhelming support in the public vote.

The inaugural awards, run by Family Business United, attracted hundreds of entries from across the UK and saw more than 40 shortlisted businesses invited to a prestigious presentation evening at law firm Farrer & Co in London this week (Wednesday June 12).

The final and much-coveted award of the evening was The People’s Choice Award – voted for by the public and the choice for the overall Family Business of the Year.

Hoburne’s Chairman, Rosie Kennar, said:

“To win this Award means so much because it is decided by the people who really
count – our customers, many of whom return year after year and have been staying with us for generations. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote and our hugely loyal and talented staff, who have all played a part in us winning this accolade.

“The shortlisted companies included many household names and to be honoured with this national title in such great company is very humbling.

Some 30 per cent of UK GDP comes from family businesses* and recent research from Business Schools at Imperial College, Leeds University and Durham University shows family businesses are less likely to fail than big business**.

Hoburne celebrated its centenary last year and has seven Holiday Parks across Dorset, Hampshire, Devon, Somerset, the Cotswolds and Cornwall.
